Birthday Girl

When the clock strikes at 12 midnight last July 24, I've been seriously getting tons of birthday greetings flooding my Facebook wall. Such an overwhelming feeling to see people still awake on wee hours. Nocturnal, perhaps? Maybe. But for those people so close to me like boyfie, greeting me at exactly 12 midnight is a tradition. Well, he just wanted to be the first one to greet. Yeah, just like that.

As for the birthday gift, it was a long story and boyfie really did put lots of effort to come up with his best birthday surprise. And I tell you, his choices were extravagant. I know he had a hard time picking up the best one.

Then he gave me this:

White iPad 2

but wait, there's another one:

Pink Smart Cover from Apple

Great, isn't it? I was surprised and touched that I cried like a child while unwrapping the gift and the boyfie was laughing all through out. Hahaha! He really likes teasing me.

Fast forward to lunch time, boyfie and I went to Prive Restaurant which I reserved a couple of days back. We were supposed to have lunch at Melt the World Cafe in Mandarin Oriental but due to an unfortunate event, we opted to a cheaper one.

Prive Restaurant is a fine-dining resto at the bay. It is located at Keppel Bay Vista where you could see yachts everywhere. The location is not accessible unless you have a car or you take a cab.

The restaurant offers 2 courses {S$32 per person} or 3 courses {S$35 per person} meal. We decided to take on the 3 courses meal which include:

Then we settled on these:

assorted breads on the house!

butter & salt

The Seared "Chairs d'Escargot"
with Parsley & Garlic Buter on Puffy Pastry

Saint Felicien Cheese Salad

Pan Seared Tenderloin

Caramelized Hazelnut Parfait

In between each course, we spent time playing with my new toy.

At the end of our meal, one of the Prive staffs approached our table and gave me a complimentary cake. So sweet of them!

My birthday this year is indeed memorable. Lots of good times. I left a message on my wall to express my heartfelt thanks to everyone:
Before this day ends, I thank the Lord for all the blessings that I have received. I hope and pray that the HE will continuously bless and guide me in every decision and path that I will take. Thanks everyone for putting efforts in visiting my wall & sending sms just to leave your birthday greetings. Lastly, thanks Glenn Rey Ricablanca Gequillo for the best surprise gift ever! ♥ you to infinity & beyond! Cheers! ♥

Of course, how could I ever forgotten to have an outfit post? It's a must. Hahaha!

To end this, let me share with you the message engraved at the back of the iPad 2.

Oriental

Hectic schedule as always yet I tried not to look so pale & out of energy. I also blame this PMS thing which I experienced for a couple weeks. It hate feeling sluggish. Dressing up is my way to fill some positive vibes all over me. Hence, I came up with this outfit post today. Yey!

multi-colored bangle: Forever21
charmed bangle: Topshop

At a dressing room.. haha!
cardigan: Thrifted
dress: Forever21
belt: Cotton On
shoes: Suki

I do love this dress which I got from F21 {Philippines} despite how it accentuates my child-bearing hips {again, I blame this PMS thing} . Admittedly, I've known from the start the dress would make me look chubbier because of the cut. Haha, I still bought it due to its oriental feel. It's like dressing up in the 60's.

necklace: Forever21; rings: Topshop

Have you noticed the necklace? It really matches the outfit well. So oriental-ish. Hahaha!

3 days to go before the special day... so excited! :D

Boho Love and All Other Things

It has been a week and a half since I updated my blog. Time flies so fast {especially when you have tons of work to do} that I actually haven't notice that my birthday is just 2 weeks away. Yey! Another year of getting older {admittedly, yes!}, wiser, healthier, and hopefully, sexier! Haha!

July is definitely my month and shopping is a valid excuse to make most out of it.

Bohemian Love: top; cotton on

maxi skirt: Bugis; shoes: rush

Say Hello to my new running shoes...
Definitely lighter than my cross-training shoes

Out & About on a Saturday with boyfie
top& vest: Plains & Prints; shorts: Le Chiq;
bag: MNG; shoes: Rush

New purchases from Forever21

Multi-colored bangle when worn: F21
cocktail ring: Diva

On other note, Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 2 is now showing. Boyfie and I decided to watch the series every night until tomorrow. We are on the 5th installment now and on Saturday morning, we will watch the last one on the big screen in 3D. Oh Yeah! I got our tickets reserved already for a couple of days back. I am so excited to see the finale and I actually haven't read the book, which I think will make it more exciting. Haha!

Sometime and Somewhere in Haji Lane

According to their official site:

Haji Lane is located within Arab Street Singapore, a lively district that is rich in Islamic history and culture. The Sultan Mosque and kampong Glam museum welcome travelers whom want to do a bit of sightseeing. If you relish ethnic shopping, the bazaars here sell cheap wicker items, cheap textiles and perfume, just to name a few.
+++++

Haji Lane now evolves to be one of the fashionista's haven. If you're trying to look for unique and fashionable items, visit Haji Lane but don't expect the prices to be cheap. If you're too much of a cheapskate, go to Bugis Street instead where haggling is possible.

I've been curious about Haji Lane ever since I came here and how some tourists raved about the place. Unfortunately for someone who lives far from the city like me, going to Haji Lane is something to be planned for. On the contrary, my housemate and I went there on an impulse. Hahaha!

And then, we were amazed on what we saw:

One of the shops there carries the Plains & Prints brand. It was so nice to see a Filipino clothing line being sold here.

My housemate and I spent almost 2 hours checking each shop until we decided to have dinner. We searched around the area until we settled down on having a Mexican dinner in a resto named Piedra Negra.

Burrito and fries

Nachos with Guacamole

The food is great, even the place. We actually didn't notice how spacious the place is. We also met some Filipinos who work there. They're all nice and the master chef too. Hahaha! We had a photo taken from my housemate's camera wherein the master chef is at the back posing with a peace sign. It was so cute. Hahaha!

After dinner, we stopped by at Bugis to check on some branded stuffs. Then we headed back home. The day ended with a full appetite and very tired feet.

Yes, it's true. When the boys are busy, the girls go shopping! Hahaha!
