cheap find: black tiered dress

Days before the Spelling Bee Musical Play, I've been thinking of what to wear for the event. As much as possible, I don't want to spend too much on it since it was only a one-day event. But the problem is, I want to wear a dress. Technically, I do have one... actually two... but since I lost a lot of weight, they're too loose for me now. get the picture? :D

So hours before the musical, I went to the mall hoping to find a cheap yet fashionable dress (semi formal?). And yes, I was able to score one -- a black tiered ruffle dress which I bought in SM Department store for only Php 350. Such a steal right?


Again, sorry for the poor quality of pic. I felt bad when I didn't bring my camera that night. The dress is way, way better in actual. :) In the pic, I worn the dress with my recent haul from Zara sale a few days back.

i was too lazy to dress up even though i was off to mall for some errands. i opted for a comfortable casual outfit so i can move freely. :P

on getting healthy

I've been on a diet for the past few weeks and it's effective, I think. I lost 4lbs. already so I guess it's a good sign to continue my 'healthy' living. So last night, I decided to make a 'healthy' bento.

I called it, Wei Xiao Bento (Smiling Bento)

On the first layer of the bento, I put some mixed fruits ( grapes, apples, pears, orange and pomelo )

On the second layer, I put some boiled young corns, lettuce and boiled quail eggs. I designed it to form a smiling face.

This is the second time I created a bento, and I think this one is better -- and healthier. I think I need to plan what's on my next bento, what do you think?

lost in translation ..

I went to a Korean store to buy an accessory. There stood by the counter is the Korean store owner around 25 to 30 years old. I approached him to pay the item and then gave him a 500-peso bill. The item is worth 125 php.

korean guy: ..... (*silence*)
me: .....
(* i rather suffer in silence type,observing what was he doing*)
korean guy: ...... (*searching for bills*)
me: .......
( *i assume he wanted to ask me if i had smaller bills, but still i waited for him to ask*)
korean guy: ......
(*still does not talk, maybe he can't speak english and then gave me the change*)
me: ...... (*i didn't speak either..*)

i counted the change silently, then found out that he gave me 380 instead
of 375.. then i assume he didn't have coins. so i placed the money in my wallet
and then finally i spoke...

me: kamsahamida.. *bow and then smile*
korean guy: ... oh... *amused...he finally smiles back and then bow*

Hahahahaha! The guy's expression was so priceless -- he was so amused that he couldn't imagine that i can actually speak Korean.. though i only said thank you... hahaha!

Hello 2009 !

We already said our goodbye to 2008 and we have also welcomed 2009. It's been our family tradition to celebrate New Year's Eve with relatives, friends and neighbors.

Even my mother has her own traditions like choosing a motif for our house decorations. I found it cute anyway.2008's motif -- any shades of ORANGE.

Like our curtains,

throw pillow cases, scented candles

and even my bed sheets did not have any excuse.

Apart from that, I was able to take photos of all the bags I've received last Christmas. I think they deserved one. Such a bagaholic indeed.

of course, Glenn's gift -- a black patent MNG hobo bag..

He simply knows how to feed my addiction. :)

And of course, i have my own version of tradition every New Year's eve.. Can you guess it?

Yes, earphones! Not just any ordinary earphones -- it should be in-ear style and could cancel outside noise. God knows how I hate firecrackers. That's why I'm very thankful for discovering A4tech SecureFit Metallic Earphone in pink. It even has very good customer feed backs.

And speaking of New Year's Eve, there are lots of things that I would like to thank for but to name a few..
