2008 Flashbacks

ust like what I did last year, here's my wrap-up post of all the things that happened for the past 12 months.

2007 had been very FRUITFUL for me.. just what I had described before. Well unlike last year, 2008 is DIFFERENT.

Series of unexpected events happened really fast which makes it unbelievable until now.. but then, there are still moments that worth keeping for..

So let's reminisce everything as much as I can and be thankful for all the blessings I've received this year.

January

The pure celebration month.

We celebrated Kathy's birthday and enjoyed her Chocolate Treat at Max Brenner with Preppy, Barney, Glenn, and Kathy. Also celebrated Jefai's birthday with ice cream, and in return, we gave him a statement tee which says " Now holding audition for the girlfriend position".
Of course, those celebrations were not completed without the tandem of Kathy + Shane.. yeah, we're not addicted to cameras... it's just that cameras can't get enough of us..that's all. Hahaha! Got hooked on They Kiss Again (It Started With A Kiss 2).

February

The special month.

Work as usual. But this month was really special. Yeah, it's Valentine's Day baby! Other than that, this is also Kathy and Jori's 1st anniversary! Whoohoo! Tagaytay nights right? Hahaha! Joke. :D Also, preppy's birthday celebration.. with his Lau Chan's treat for inner circle of friends... plus Kathy's preparation of the CDO itinerary.. And of course, how could I ever forgotten Glenn's Valentine's surprise.. It was totally UNEXPECTED. Though he already surprised me last 2007 with a bouquet of white roses, I never imagined him surprising me again. This time, he had it delivered. Yup, special delivery right on Solegy's doorstep. I still remember that day.. everyone was teasing me and I was in total shock. Still can't get over with the surprise -- a bouquet of white roses + 3 heart-shaped balloons. That moment was perfect even though I am a happy camper that time with Preppy.. and who can also forget that balloon incident in MRT.. do you still remember it? Preppy and I had a hard time releasing the air of the 3 balloons 'cause it was prohibited inside the MRT station. People were staring at us wondering what the hell were we doing! right, can you imagine it? Well, we survived.. eventually! Had a Valentine's dinner aftermath with Orange & Bronze friends at Taste Asia. Celebrated my lola's 85th birthday in Laguna. Lastly, Xin Nian Kuai Le... Gong Xi Fa Cai..

March

The adventure month.

Had our anticipated trip to Mindanao.. yeah! Cagayan de Oro + Camiguin Island = Total Adventure.. Got sun-kissed on the white island, toured the entire Camiguin island in just one day and saw the famous "Sunken Cemetery". Conquered the rapids of the Cagayan River with Kagay's white water rafting.Scared myself to death in canopy walk and experienced 14 seconds of insanity in CDO's zipline with 170 ft. above the ground. It was a breath-taking experience for all of us. Truly, a once-in-a-lifetime experience we won't never forget. Also celebrated Barney's birthday at Conti's Serendra with Kathy, Preppy and Barney. Got hooked on Nodame Cantabile's SP.

April

The anniversary month.

Work as usual. Had a lunch treat at Grilla courtesy of barney, preppy, jay, jerome and majo. Jaycee's birthday. What else? hmm.. sunog! yeah, it's been a year since our neighbor's house has been eaten by fire.. until now, they're still on the process of re-constructing it. Wonder why it took so long. Celebrated my 4th year anniversary in Solegy. Went to Baguio and celebrated our 7th year anniversary with Glenn. Yihee!

May

The saddest month.

It's supposed to be full of fun.. since it's summer.. but it turned out to be a bummer instead. Yup, I'm talking about the closure of Solegy's Bacolod office. It was unexpected and it happened so quickly. I felt sorry for all of them. On the contrary, I never thought that I would also turned out to be one of them. Our manila office eventually decided to "shut" down. I could still remember the time when Alona broke the news on me on the phone. I was on a vacation leave that time and when I heard the news, I was in denial. Mixed emotions -- that's what I had during that time. I cried, of course, not because I lost my job but I cried because of my friends. We had developed a strong bond of friendship over the years, and then suddenly, we're about to face different paths from now on. It's like a total heart break. Apart from that, Barney left us for his Dagitab.

On a lighter note, I was able to buy a genki umbrella. Just like what I've said before, yes, i'm referring to the transparent umbrellas used by most Japanese people. It's light-weight, comes in different colors and lastly, it's cheap! Also bought my Paul Frank replica watch at multiply.

June

The bummer month.

Spent most of the time online.. job hunting. Prepared for series of job interviews and exams. Celebrated Jori's birthday and despedida in one. Sponsored an Outreach party for the kids of Gentle Hands at Jollibee Anonas. It was super fun. Also celebrated Lila's birthday ( the girl sporting hirokita maki). The 'ang shwang itz' barkada was there, though not completed, to share lila's special day ( yatta! tanjoubi omedetou! ). Had a major hair cut. Attended the much-awaited Sun Tech Days: A Worldwide Developer Conference held at Edsa Shangri-la Hotel in Makati with my Solegy peers and Orange & Bronze friends. Watched Avenue Q: The Farewell Run with O & B friends. Got star-struck with Lea Salonga.

July

The birthday month -- start of something new.

Celebrated my 25th birthday with a new job. Yeah, it was the perfect gift. Treated my family for a dinner at Taste Asia and watched The Mummy in MOA. Got addicted to lomography. Received a Holga 120 CFN camera as a birthday gift from Glenn. Became a proud Holga owner. Went nature-tripping with Orange & Bronze friends at La Mesa Eco park. Had a series of photo shoots there. It was so hot and humid that time. Can't stand the heat that we decided to have a dip in the pool somewhere north and went to see Owie's hacienda. hahaha! Had an Italian dinner at Capriciosa in Greenbelt 3 together with O & B friends. Watched The Dark Knight movie at Greenbelt (last full show).. and it ended around 2 in the morning. Used my 1st roll of film for my lomo camera but it turned out to be a disaster. Better luck next roll..

August

The busy month.

Spent slepless nights at work. A happy camper again with Alex. Had a series of over time at the office. Heard some scary stories in the office. Discovered that I don't have a third eye but a third ear instead. Hahaha! Been hearing a running man in the office every time I stay late. It was spooky and I had goosebumps. Also, had late dinner with O & B friends at Dencio's.

September

The Back-to-Fandom & Get-Together month.

Yes, I somewhat set aside my fandom for a while to focus more on other things. But it didn't stop me from coping up.Watched series of Arashi PVs and guestings. Downloaded singles and watched Arashi No Shukudai-kun and Himitsu no Arashi-chan episodes. Even dreamt of watching Arashi Around Asia 2008 in Taiwan and spending more than 30k for concert goods. hahaha! Anticipated to watch Hana Yori Dango Final movie once available for download. Celebrated the 1st anniversary of my desktop, Yankumi!!! Had a movie night at Earl's with preppy (of course), jefai, barney, kathy, evan and lino .. with cameo appearance of mich jiejie. Went to Tagaytay Highlands with O & B friends as a birthday treat of Owie and Martin.

October

The start of partying month.

Enrolled myself, together with Alex and Shey, in a hip hop dance class in Orange Dance Studio. Got hooked on dancing and later on, participated on a cheerathon. Yes, we won the said cheer competition after spending series of practices including weekends. 1 year of bragging rights, baby! Hahaha! Celebrated PJ's birthday at One Mckinley Place and got tipsy. It was my 1st time to party with my new set of officemates. Had dinner with Kathy and Mich at Mom & Tina's. Of course, how can I forget Glenn's 26th Birthday! I had series of preparations for it with the help of our friends. We surprised him by giving 26 gifts. It was super fun. He was totally overwhelmed. I gave him a watch as my 26th gift. Glenn treated us for dinner at Taste Asia. Had desserts afterwards at Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. Watched the House Bunny movie with O & B friends and had coffee treat ( c/o Ealden) afterwards at Seattle's.

November

The birth of "barkada rate" month.

Attended the Quantum of Solace Event at Ascott. Bought a sneaker boots. Got addicted to
leggings. Had backpackers adventure with Martin and Glenn. I called it, the Great Escapade -- the birth of "barkada rate". Went to North on the 1st day (Subic) and found ourselves on the South the next day (Laguna). Totally unplanned yet so much fun.

Had our first blood treat ( with the newbies and bootcampers) in Kamay Kainan, Market! Market!. Went to Punta Fuego with my officemates to celebrate the success of our project, Point of Use (POU). Team building. Picture taking everywhere in Punta Fuego. Enjoyed the 2 infinity pools at the Peninsula. Booked our flights to El Nido, Palawan for March 2009.

December

The long vacation month.

Had dinner at Mom & Tina's with O & B friends. Went to Ice Cream Bar at Rockwell for All You Can Eat FIC Ice Cream. Joined Lawson Got Talent Christmas Party with my fabulous officemates. Been part of the committee for Team PJ Christmas Party at Oxford Suites. Got wasted and drunk after tequila shots and other mixes.

Went to World Trade Center and bought Christmas presents for friends, cousins, relatives, and family. Received lots of bags this year -- a black patent MNG hobo bag from Glenn, a polka dots shoulder bag from Martin, a bag organizer from clair and a violet patent shoulder bag from my mom's friend. As a tradition, went to Laguna to spend some time with my relatives. Watched the Twilight movie alone. Yeah, I did that. Joined the Twilight craze -- got addicted to it. Reserved and bought all Twilight saga books ( Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn ). Did not bother to cook last Christmas.. too hooked on finishing Breaking Dawn. :D

Bought my Belle de Jour Power Planner 2009. This time, it has 60 coupons.

Just like last year, sent sms to people greeting Merry Christmas. Shared my blessings to other people. Accompanied Martin to buy havaianas. Too bad, no size available for him -- in all AFF branches. Bought a new A4-tech in-ear earphones in pink in preparation for the new year. Downloaded songs from different genre for my ipod. Had a last song syndrome to Britney's womanizer.. gosh.. i wonder what's with that song? Had a dinner with O & B Friends ( Koya JP's Treat) and picture taking with Martin & Glenn using Clair's laptop camera. This time, I did not buy a pair of havaianas. I am saving for other stuffs.. for a change.

Lastly, enjoyed a long Christmas vacation..

On Arashi Fandom

yeah, this is about my fandom and i think this one deserves an entry..

it's been so long since i have written a blog entry. Yup, i know.. excuses.. hahaha! Seriously, i am and still very busy with my work now.. considering this is a new job and i have to do some sort of leaving an 'impression' kind of thing. My attention was really diverted that I haven't kept myself updated with all Arashi stuffs. So yeah, poor me..

I tried to catch up and yes, I was able to:

1. Watch 24 Jikan Terebi with Matsujun's Myu no Anyo Papa ni Ageru
2. Some Arashi No Shukudai-kun and Himitsu no Arashi-chan episodes
3. Watch some Arashi PVs, and TV guestings

and most of all, I was able to know that Arashi Around Asia 2008 has started...

and I was thinking of going to Taiwan just to watch the concert after watching and reading some con reports.. . waaaaa! *frustrated*

I want to see the live performance of ONE LOVE..

I tried to research on this one, how much am I going to spend for everything:
Visa, Hotel, Airfare, Concert Tickets, Concert Goods, Food and Pocket Money...

and with all of these, 30k is not enough.. I guess..

and if I'll go, I have to start preparing now, cause tickets are selling really FAST.

I really want to go.. *pout*

So for now, I am downloading the ARASHI - Dream “A” Live (LE) album, One Love Single and Truth/Kaze no Mukou E Single..

it's been a long time since i updated my blog.. and yeah, hontou ni gomen ne..

i was on hiatus.. and i've got my reasons..

so anyway, tomorrow is a brand new day for me.. it's the start of my new job in another company..surprised?! hahahaha.. well, for those people who don't know what's been happening to me for the past few weeks.. let me tell you a short story.. so listen.. hahahaha!

last may 10, the company that i had been working on for the past 4 years suddenly announced that it will be shutting down due to some uncontrollable issues. so everyone.. well, most of the people were obviously shocked yet surprisingly happy.. hahaaha! i don't know why.. i guess everyone had their own views.

fast forward to present, i am a professional bum. Tomorrow, i will be officially EMPLOYED again.. Yey! Kampai!!!! Hahahaha..

so yeah.. tomorrow is the start of something new..

new working environment
new faces
new set of friends
new job

and honestly, i have this 'first day high' feeling.. i am quite nervous yet excited at the same time.. it's also a good thing that my best friend, Chilley, will fetch me tomorrow (he's a big-time now.. he has a car already! hahahaha! ). Anyway, he's working at Oracle which shares the same building with Lawson so we'll be together on the way to office..

waaa.. while i'm browsing some sites, i came across to Tenjostyle site at vox and i was able to see this pic of Matsumoto Jun ( of ARASHI).

hi there! it's been so long since i have updated my blog.. i know there are lots of things to blog about, but honestly, i don't know where to start and how am i going to write it..

a lot of things happened.. so sudden that until now, i couldn't believe it actually happened..maybe, i'm still on the denial stage, or maybe i'm still on the stage of moving on..trying to compose myself again to start anew. arggh, it's hard.. and i have to deal with it..

OMG, i can't help myself to cry while i'm writing this.. i can't express how i feel..thinking all those situations that had happened it made me miss my friends.. ;(

and this morning, i had a chat with mich jiejie regarding the sun tech days which we are going to attend.. some sort of a reunion na rin..

Yatta! I finally got my own genki umbrella! Yes, i'm referring to the transparent umbrellas used by most Japanese people. It's light-weight, comes in different colors and lastly, it's cheap! :)

When I read Anton's blog entry regarding this uber cute, transparent umbrellas, I immediately bought one for myself. Yeah, I'm afraid the supplies won't last long especially when everyone discovered and started to have one. Haha! Bad.. :P

Anyway, I got the violet one. It's cute. I'll post the pictures when I transferred it from my phone. I'm still thinking if I'll be getting the white one or the yellow one.. hahaha! I'm getting hooked on this, promise! I even got compliments, it's like I'm a walking advertisement. People tend to look at my umbrella everytime I use it. Of course, it's not suitable during sunny days since it's transparent. You'll still get sun-kissed if you use it. haha! It's perfect nowadays since it's raining most of the times.. ^__^
